comfy t-shirts made by relatable widows
Hello! Ilana and Lisa here. How the heck did we end up here? Well, we met on a virtual grief support group for young widows and widowers. We very quickly jumped from Zoom squares to long walks while sharing frustrations, tears, laughter, and grief stories.
Widow is a Five Letter Word grew from our desire to use humor and blatant honesty to normalize grief while also using comfortable T-shirts as a tool for self-care and healing. Oh, and get excited, we like to swear a lot.
We hope that you find something on our site that resonates with you. Not into T-shirts? You may want to follow our blog linked below to learn more about our lives as kick ass widows with awesome young children. And however you stumbled upon us, we are happy you are here but so sad for the reason.
Most importantly, we'd like to dedicate this adventure to our amazing children and our dead husbands. We fucking love you.
We wanted comfy. We wanted economical. We wanted it to be obvious that we had poured our hearts and souls into this. And after buying all the necessary DIY equipment and testing out a few ideas, the product wasn't quite right. So we went back to the drawing board to bring you the perfect shirt. We decided to ask a local business to screen print our designs. Bingo. Finally, a shirt so comfortable that we consider it a form of self-care. So there you have it. Shirts we are proud to wear, and we hope you will be too. Oh and by the way, these products are our intellectual property. Especially our business name, Widow is a Five Letter Word. That shit is trademarked.
